The Oh So Popular social website “Pinterest” is not only addicting but an excellent marketing tool for anyone with a website! Pinterest had Over 11 million unique visitors in January 2012 —the fastest website to break the 10 million mark. Yes, even faster than Facebook!

How do I add pinterest to my wordpress website? Login to your admin, on the left column click on plugins, click on “add new”. In the search field type in “Pinterest”. Find a pinterest plugin that suites your needs, install & setup. Wallaa That simple!

As always remember to backup your website before you add a new extension! All extensions are not created equal…

Magento, Is it the right Cart for Me?

We talk to a lot of website owners that are interested in updating their shopping cart. Magento is sometimes recommended, but is Magento right for you?  Few things to consider when considering Magento.

1. Do you have the time to learn Magento? Putting aside some time to learn the robust eCommerce platform can mean all the difference in the world.  Sheer Joy or complete frustration.

2. Are you willing to change your hosting provider? Their are specific hosting companies that offer Magento specific support. This is very important and can save you from a lot of headaches and costly developer fees.

3. Are you willing to pay for a kick-ass eCommerce solution? Magento pretty much does it all, but sometimes can involve a decent price tag.  Their are some pretty awesome extensions out there that can easily drive up the price. It’s important to note, that you can start with the basics and always “add-on” new features and benefits as you grow your business.

4. Do you want your website to be eCommerce specific? or are you looking to have a basic website with just some eCommerce functionality? This question is probably the most important. If your business is not 100% about eCommerce you may want to consider another user friendly application.  Lots are out there. Most notably is the WordPress ecommerce solution now available through WooThemes. This is a great solution for the small business owner, looking for an easy way to start an online shop.
